Feedback and Suggestions About the Debates

Postby Floating_Abu on Thu Mar 26, 2009 10:55 am

Someone mentioned to me and I think would be good - is debate protocol.

For example people who are actually brought up in proper debate environments understand basics like:

1. Attack/speak to the assertion and not the person

The latter is known as an ad-hominem and is not allowed

2. Logical fallacies - there are a whole heap of them but they also contribute to good debate

Anyway I'm not good with long rules and reads but I think aspects like ensuring people understand the rules of engagement will help this Moksha Debate Forum grow into a world class forum ;)

If we just wanted our normal eggs and chicken debates we can have that in any other forum

Putting out some simple rules (and quick to read) will help with most of us who have short attention spans :) :peace:

On a more serious note, a suggestion for ya'all to consider

Hi Abu,

Do you want me to find you some formal info on dialectics?
